Fireworks on the Beach

The 4th of July fireworks are AWESOME in Frankfort. Not that I was able to pay very close attention to them this year...too busy chasing little Marts around in the sand! I thought he'd be scared of the noise, but boy was I wrong. It was a late night of course--love the pic of Anne asleep on Michael after the fireworks.

Anne Behind the Camera

I'm sure most people won't think this is as hysterical as I do, but I wanted to post it anyway. After our playdate at Tori's (see previous post), I loaded up the kids in the car and let Anne look at the pics I took on my camera while I talked to Tori's mom Jane for a few minutes. I didn't find out until later that night when I looked at the pics that Anne had snapped a few herself in the car. The funniest thing to me was that she turned the camera around and took a few of herself! She sure looks like she was concentrating hard!

Playdate at Tori's

I'm sure that you can tell from the photos that Anne LOVES her friend Tori. They had a blast dressing up and dancing. I'm hoping that Anne will be inspired to start dance classes in the fall since Tori does it! As you see, one of Tori's older brothers, Dan, and our own Baby Marty also got in on the action!

More Favorites from Up North

Most of these are of the Baby Marts, I know, but I figure he deserves to be the star of the blog for a while! It's not like Anne has never been the center of attention!

I love that the kids get to spend quality time with the Waymans at the cottage. Hopefully I can get my parents AND sisters & brothers-in-law up there someday, too!

Still have lots to post of the cousins and the fireworks...

Picking Berries with Emerson & Oliver

The berries hardly had time to ripen before Anne & Emerson would be out picking again. We have a blackberry bush at our cottage (and Mom told me yesterday she just planted a raspberry bush!) and Emerson has a raspberry bush next to his house. These two four-year-olds were so adorable as they talked and gathered their berries. One of Emerson's big brothers, Oliver, helped reach the berries that were too high or in the really prickly areas. Unfortunately, what I didn't get a picture of and should have is how their faces and hands looked after eating the berries!!!

Fourth of July

So it hasn't been quite a year since I blogged...but almost. Marty Jr. is finally making his debut on the Wayman Family Blog today. He'll be ten months on Saturday! And sweet and sassy Anne just turned four.

We just got back from spending ten days up at the cottage in Frankfort. The highlight, of course, was the Fourth of July. Anne enjoyed catching candy during the parade. Marty Jr. loved playing in the sand on the beach. Mama relaxed on the porch (with drink in hand, of course). Daddy did some work with Paul on the back cottage (it's looking great). We all had a blast at the fireworks on the beach with Mom, Uncle Roy, and the aunts, uncles, cousins, and Ingram family.

Oh, and Mom Wayman & Lynn made that yummy cake...I can only take credit for eating (several) pieces!

More photos from up North to come...Anne & Emerson (who is only 5 days older than Anne and lives next door to our cottage year-round) were obsessed with picking our blackberry bush and Emerson's raspberry bush. I'll post tomorrow!

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer :)
